Hair Treatments

1. DERMAROLLER:
It is used as a primary method for hair fall treatment or as a maintenance therapy post-PRP treatment (or) Mesotherapy. It increases the penetration of topical medications that is used for hair growth. It can be once in 2 weeks for 4 to 6 sittings.

2. HAIR GROWTH TREATMENT:
Hair growth treatment differs for men and women. Initially scalp evaluation is done using Trichoscopy and based on relevant blood investigations and family history appropriate treatment is provided. Hair treatment can be in the form of topical lotions, hair serum, hair oil and tablets which enhances the hair growth. The root causes of hair fall mentioned below are addressed with utmost care and education about hair care and nutrition are given in our skin and cosmetic clinic.

3. HAIR TRANSPLANT:
Hair loss causes psychological distress in men and women. If the medical management fails to improve the hair growth in men and rarely in women, the alternative and permanent method of treatment, hair transplantation can be considered.

Hair transplantation is a surgical technique that removes hair follicles from one part of the body, called the ‘donor site’, to a bald or balding part of the body known as the ‘recipient site’. The technique is primarily used to treat permanent hair loss can happen due to several reasons, including types of AGA that is Androgenetic Alopecia in men and FPHL – female pattern hair loss which are androgen dependent

Types of Hair Transplant:
• FUE
• FUT

FUE:

In this method individual hair follicles are removed from the back of the scalp and transplanted to the front portion of the scalp where there is hair loss. Hairs at the back of the scalp are permanent and are androgen independent which serves as the basis for hair transplantation.

Advantages of FUE:
• Less downtime
• Cost effective
• No suture line

FUT:

In this method a strip of skin is removed from the back of the scalp and it offers a huge number of hair follicles that are dissected from the skin strip and it is transplanted to the front part of the scalp.

Advantages of FUT: • Avoids multiple sessions unlike FUE

4. MESOTHERAPY:
Mesotherapy is a painless procedure where US – FDA approved vitamins, minerals, amino acids and medications are injected into the middle layer of the scalp skin. It is done in multiple sessions either once in a week or once in two weeks for 6 to 12 months. Medications that can be used for hair are Biotin, Dexpanthenol, Gingko Biloba and Minoxidil. Thus Mesotherapy for hair prevents further hair loss and stimulates regrowth of hair naturally.

5. PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy):
PRP is an advanced method of restoring hair growth in men and women. Patients own blood is used for this procedure. The patient’s blood is centrifuged and concentrated platelets which are 3 to 5 times higher are injected into patients scalp with fine needles after applying topical anaesthetic spray for 45 minutes. The procedure may last for 1 to 1.5 hours. It is done once in 2 weeks for 4 to 6 sittings.
